Last summer my husband Daniel and I were spending a week on Memphremagog and I vidoetaped the only known footage of what many, believe is "Memphré", the lake "monster". It was exciting to see frames of that video on this site and hearing from others who believed that there is something large living in the lake. This past Christmas I was visiting my family in Sherbrooke and came out to Knowlton's Landing with my sister, Annick. We wanted to see the last of the open water which is usually in Sargent's Bay. The lake was very calm and the surface smooth as glass. I was playing with her dog, Anouch, when all of a sudden my sister yelled, "Oh my God, look at this!!!" I got up and looked out at the water only to see bubbles....many. many large bubbles. Over 50 for sure. She said she had seen a shape that looked like a large bolder on the surface of the lake right off of the dock (maybe 4-5 metres) and that it moved as a whale would on the surface. We stood in awe looking out on the water... wonder filled us and she said that she believed ...there was something big living in the lake. I smiled thinking that "Memphré" had come to say hello. I am connected to the lake and even living here in Niagara Falls. Ontario, I am compelled to go back to Memphremagog, to reach out to something magical... maybe we shall connect again next summer. I am looking forward to it. Thanks......

Je vous remercie de votre lettre informative du 20 janvier 1998. Il est vrai que j'ai observé quelque chose d'étrange au Quai public de Knowlton's Landing le 24 décembre 1997. Cette baie était la seule à ne pas être gelée alors nous avons décidé d'y arrêter pour admirer le paysage.

Lorsque j'arrive au bord du quai, je cru observer une pierre (rocher) d'environ 1 mètre de diamètre. Une fraction de seconde plus tard, il n'y avait plus que des bulles à la surface. Ma soeur arriva à temps pour voir les bulles avec moi, il y en avait peut-être une soixantaine. Ce que j'ai vu avait une couleur plutôt grisâtre foncé et ressemblait au dos d'une baleine à bosse!!!

Lorsque j'ai vu le vidéo de Patricia, j'ai resté encore sceptique à l'idée que "Memphré" existe. Mais après cette très brêve expérience à Knowlton's Landing, je dois vous avouer que ma curiosité est d'autant plus intriguée.
